Built in the late nineteenth century at the initiative of Si Said Ben Moussa, minister under the regency of his brother Ahmed Ba, this lovely home is a testament to the domestic architectural art of the late nineteenth century in Morocco.
In 1932, a museum and craft workshops will be installed by the Administration of Fine Arts. Today, the regional museum houses the key pieces that reflect the folk art of Marrakech and surrounding Berber villages, particularly from Tensift, Souss, High Atlas, Anti-Atlas, Bani, Tafilalet. Visitors will discover a homogeneous set of woodwork, south jewelry, pottery and ceramics, weapons, costumes and a rich collection of rugs and weavings of the South, and some archaeological finds, including marble tub early eleventh century.
