From May 22 to 25, 2025 – A living celebration of Marrakech’s heritage
Marrakech is preparing to vibrate to the rhythm of its history, its gardens and its ancestral hydraulic engineering on the occasion of a new edition of the Heritage Days, organized by the association Turāth from May 22 to 25, 2025. This cultural event, free and open to all, is under the banner of Bahja, this serene joy specific to the ochre city, and of the Nzaha, a curious and poetic stroll through the treasures of local heritage.
A journey through time, water and gardens
Under the theme “Marrakech, along the water and the gardens”, more than 200 volunteer guides, trained by experts in architecture and history, will invite visitors to explore the material and immaterial wealth of the city. Four emblematic routes are offered:
- El Kzadria – Tinsmiths Square : Bahia Palace, Badii Palace, Saadian Tombs, grain silo, Mellah.
- Koutoubia : Minaret, cisterns, ksar El Hjar, My Abdeslam and My Ali gardens.
- Riad Al Arouss : Almoravid Qobba and its hundred-year-old trees.
- Gueliz : Architectural heritage of the European quarter.
Prestigious inauguration and rich program
The event will be launched on May 22 at 18:30 p.m. at Bahia Palace, with screening of the documentary “Marrakech along the water and gardens”, opening of photographic exhibitions and presentation of urban flora.
Among the highlights:
- The exhibitions at the French Institute and the JAAL Riad Resort.
- The workshops for children, games, stories and songs at Dar Bellarj.
- The international conferences at the Yves Saint Laurent Museum on vernacular architecture and the Almoravid Qobba.
- Le launch of a water circuit unpublished with Marrakech Insiders.
- A closing conference at the Meydene followed by a documentary screening.
An inclusive and unifying event
Worn by the Turāth association, the Heritage Days bring together prestigious partners: Ministry of Culture, Marrakech-Safi Region, Municipality of Marrakech, Majorelle Garden Foundation, CRT Marrakech… This project aims to transmit the passion for heritage to all generations, in particular young people, and to encourage the preservation of our collective heritage.
Closing at M Avenue: tribute to volunteer guides
On May 25 at 20 p.m., a ceremony will honor the commitment of volunteers. This will be an opportunity to beautifully conclude these days dedicated to exploring and sharing a living heritage.
