Marrakech once again confirms its international prominence: the Red City will host, from October 28 to November 1, 2026, the 70th annual Congress of the International Union of Lawyers (UIA), one of the largest legal gatherings in the world.
A leading international event
Each year, the UIA brings together thousands of lawyers from over 90 countries to discuss the major issues facing the profession. After Paris in 2024 and Guadalajara (Mexico) in 2025, it is Marrakech's turn to host this 70th edition, a significant recognition for Morocco as a leading destination for major professional and institutional events.
The president of the UIA, Fernando Hernández Gómez, welcomed the choice of Marrakech as an honor, highlighting the city's rich cultural and historical significance in hosting this meeting about the future of the legal profession and the strengthening of the rule of law.
Two main themes on the agenda
The congress will offer more than 40 working sessions, round tables and presentations by international experts, structured around two current themes:
- Major sporting eventsconsidered at the intersection of human rights, economics and sustainable development;
- The role of law in international trade.
A social program and a day trip are also planned to offer participants a moment to discover the region after the scientific work.
