World of Adornment Arts
Located in the heart of the historic district of the Kasbah, near the Saadian tombs, the World of Finery Arts in Marrakech houses a collection of more than 3000 pieces of finery, ornaments, jewelry and other objects or ceremonial clothing.
No less than 7000 ethnographic pieces make up the heart of the MAP Marrakech collection. Nearly 3000 are on display. These are mainly objects of body adornment, i.e. jewelry and accessories used to embellish and adorn the bodies of women and men: tiaras, temples, earrings, foreheads, irons, chinstraps, necklaces, necklaces,
chokers, shoulder straps, brooches, belts, bracelets, cuffs, rings, anklets or other ornaments intended to serve as ceremonial pieces for horses...
But also pieces of textiles, embroideries, dresses, coats, kaftans, costumes, headdresses and scarves complete the museum collection.
These are pieces from hundreds of territories of more than fifty countries in Africa, Asia and Europe representing hundreds of peoples, nations and tribes, thus offering visitors a rich panel of diverse and singular aesthetic sensibilities.
