Jbel Lahdid

Raising its peaks to 722 meters, Jbel Lhdid, also known as the Iron Mountain, takes its name from the large ferruginous masses that compose it. Traces of ancient exploitations, attributed to the Portuguese and potentially to the Phoenician colony of Mogador, mark this mountain range. Populated with argan trees, thujas, oleasters, mastic trees and broom, Jbel Lhdid offers visitors a breathtaking panoramic view from its peaks. Every year, during the 44 rounds of the Moussem des Regraga, this place is visited to honor the sanctuary of Sidi Ouasmine, considered the Sultan of Regraga, an event which takes place every April.

How to get there ?

Take the road towards Marrakech, and at Ounagha, turn right towards Had Dra. Then, turn left at the sign indicating Akermoud and continue straight on Route Provinciale 2207. Travel 30 km to the commune headquarters, then head towards Jbel Lahdid which looms on the right. Continue your route, passing small towns, and 200 meters after a bend, don't miss the track on the right leading to Sidi Ouasmine (5 km away, or halfway). Access to the summit is only on foot, following an old non-vehicle track for 2 km.
