Museum of the Palm Grove

Founded in 2011 by Abderrazzak Benchaâbane, the Palm Grove Museum is the first permanent exhibition space dedicated to contemporary art in Marrakech. Located at the gates of the Palm Grove in a two-hectare park in the heart of Douar Tounsi, contemporary art and nature meet and complement each other through different spaces. Exhibitions of works by forty Moroccan artists are presented in the old adobe agricultural buildings rehabilitated for the occasion. The Museum also organizes temporary exhibitions. The two hectares of the park are structured into thematic gardens. Dry garden and water garden, vegetable patch and orchard, fragrant rosebushes and Andalusian garden transport the visitor to natural environments reminiscent of yesterday's nature and today's more tame nature of the palm grove.
