Former Ida Ougourd Sugar Factory
The old sugar factory of Ida Ou Gourd is located on the edge of Oued Ksob ("the cane river"), at the place where the Saadians established "Souira Qdima", the ancient Essaouira. Built between the 16th and 17th centuries, it is located 21 km south of Essaouira. Exploring this ancient sugar factory truly represents a cultural and tourist experience, transporting us to a time when Morocco was dedicated to the cultivation of sugar cane.

How to get there ?
Take the road towards Agadir. Once in Ghazoua, turn left towards Marrakech until you reach Ida Ou Gourd. However, it should be noted that no road leads directly to the sugar factory. Nature has regained its rights, requiring us to get there on foot.
