Sidi Kaouki Beach

Sidi Kaouki is a seaside resort renowned for surfing and windsurfing, thanks to its trade winds and large waves. Located in the Argan Biosphere Reserve, the village promotes the production of argan oil, listed as a UNESCO intangible heritage site. In 2021, eco-responsible initiatives were put in place to protect the coastline, involving NGOs, local businesses and the community.

Sustainable commitment

Eco-responsibility is also a fundamental pillar of Sidi Kaouki's identity. In 2021, a local mobilization was launched to preserve the region's exceptional coastline. Thanks to the collaboration between NGOs, such as Surfrider, the private sector, in particular the Mika company, as well as the municipality and civil society, initiatives have been put in place to ensure sustainable management of natural resources and the protection of the marine ecosystem. This approach demonstrates the commitment of residents and local stakeholders to maintaining the balance between tourism development and respect for the environment.

How to get there ?

Sidi Kaouki is located about 20 kilometers south of Essaouira. To get there, take the national road N°1 towards Agadir. After passing the town of El Ghazoua, also called Essaouira Jadida, turn right while continuing towards Agadir. Be careful, because about 10 kilometers further, on your left, you will see a sign indicating the entrance to Sidi Kaouki. This drive offers you a beautiful view of the Moroccan countryside, before arriving at this charming seaside resort.
