When to go to the Moroccan Atlas?
During winter, it is very cold in the Moroccan Atlas, so the ideal season for a road trip is from spring to autumn (April to November). The temperature is pleasant.

Where to sleep during your Atlas road trip
There are a lot of hotels, lodges or inns, small hotels (are often called guest houses or Dars) in all regions of the Atlas Morocco, you will have no problem finding accommodation on D-Day, everything depends on your budget but also on your desires. But it is best to book to avoid disappointment especially when it comes to high season.
Basic equipment to bring
- Waterproof jacket
- Poncho / rain cape
- Warm jacket - ultra-light down jacket
- Joggers or flowing pants
- 1 pair of trail or walking shoes
- 1 pair of sneakers for every day
- Cotton T-shirts
- Cap / hat
- Watch
- Sunscreen for protection
- A headlamp.
- A GPS, or at least the Maps.me application on the phone, free and usable offline once the maps have been downloaded, is the best!
- A bottle, ideally filtering, to fill your water anywhere.
- A small basic medicine kit for first aid.
- (Optional) A tent, a sleeping bag and a survival blanket. It is not mandatory at all. But if you have the option to sleep while camping, it's a must.
