The ochre city is preparing to host a major international event: the 8 and 9 May 2026, the Mövenpick Convention Center in Marrakech will be the scene of the 58th Annual Conference of the Habitat and Francophonie Network (RHF)A meeting organized by the Al Omrane Group, under the chairmanship of the Minister of National Territorial Planning, Urban Planning, Housing and Urban Policy.

A leading international event

Public decision-makers, housing operators, financial institutions and experts from more than 30 French-speaking countries will meet in Marrakech to discuss a central theme: "Towards an integrated approach to the sustainability of affordable housing: challenges, tools and partnerships".

The program will focus on housing finance, environmental transition, territorial resilience, governance, and international cooperation. Five thematic panels will structure the discussions, allowing participants to explore both technological innovations and the most effective financing models across the Francophonie.

Morocco, historical host of the RHF

This will be the fifth time Morocco's hosting of this annual conference demonstrates a strong and lasting partnership with the Francophone housing network:

  • 1989 – Marrakech housing financing
  • 1999 – Tangier social housing and quality of life
  • 2004 – Casablanca land, social diversity and urban integration
  • 2015 – Rabat climate change and social housing
  • 2026 – Marrakech integrated approach and sustainability

Each edition has marked a key step in the dialogue between Francophone housing stakeholders. The 2026 edition follows on from the Royal Directives aimed at decent, accessible and sustainable housing for all.
