Medersa Ben Youssef
In the heart of the medina, the Ben Youssef Madrasa, one of the largest medresas of the Maghreb, is one of the most remarkable historical monuments of Marrakech and undoubtedly deserves your visit. It was in the 16th century that it was erected by the Saadian Abd Allah Al Ghalib, information attested by inscriptions on the lintel of the entrance door and on the capitals of the prayer room. Designed on a quadrilateral plan of 1680 m2, the madrassah included 130 student rooms distributed over two floors around a courtyard on which the prayer room is located.
