Salat Al-Azama Synagogue
Like most synagogues erected in Morocco, Salat Al-Azama, built in 1942, is located in the Mellah: this district was originally intended to receive the Jewish community. Beautiful size, it was built around a central courtyard, a traditional architectural model. It is only recently that modifications have been made: its eastern wall has been furnished with a gallery for women (erzat nachim). The wooden arch, mobile at first, gave way to a marble arch near the eastern wall.
