The National Federation of Restaurateurs of Morocco and Gault & Millau Morocco announce the official release of the Gault & Millau Morocco Guide 2026, scheduled for June 27, 2026 during a gala dedicated to gastronomy, restaurants and tourism.
A first edition that is 100% Moroccan
For this inaugural edition, the guide's inspectors traveled throughout the Kingdom to anonymously and independently evaluate more than 220 establishments. Following this rigorous process, 135 restaurants were selected for inclusion in the guide.
The 2026 edition will also highlight the most representative establishments of Moroccan culinary excellence, with a selection of the 20 best restaurants in Morocco. The ratings are based on Gault & Millau's long-standing criteria: quality of ingredients, technical skill, creativity, consistency, and customer experience.
The Chef of the Year 2026 award
The gala on June 27 will be marked by the presentation of several awards, including the highly anticipated Chef of the Year 2026 award, intended to reward a chef whose talent, audacity and commitment contribute to the influence of Moroccan cuisine.
Industry players welcome the initiative
Ms. Rmili, president of the National Federation of Restaurateurs of Morocco, welcomed an initiative that values professionals in the sector and strengthens the attractiveness of Morocco as a destination through its culinary heritage.
For his part, Steve Berdah, president of Gault & Millau Morocco, emphasizes that this first edition is the result of significant fieldwork carried out with rigor and independence, highlighting the richness, diversity and dynamism of the national gastronomic scene.
