Nzaha – Traditional oven-baked bread in a local's home (Youssoufia)

  • Family
  • Nature and Adventure

You are invited to a traditional house or rural area where bread is still baked in a traditional way — often in a wood-fired oven (traditional oven, “ferran” or “tabouna/Berber oven”).

The workshop guides you step by step through the bread-making process: kneading the dough with local flour, yeast, and water, and shaping the simple yet tradition-rich loaf. Moroccan bread, often called khobz, remains a staple of the Moroccan table.

Then comes the traditional wood-fired baking: the heat of the artisanal oven gives the bread a golden crust, a smoky taste and a soft texture inside, authentic and tasty.

Experience a beautiful immersion in rural Moroccan life with the “Nzaha” workshop: an authentic experience where you learn to prepare traditional bread, just as families have done for generations. Accompanied by local residents, you will discover the simple and genuine techniques of artisanal breadmaking in a friendly and welcoming setting.

A delicious and welcoming break in the heart of the local region
Share an authentic moment of rural life by participating in a nzaha (traditional picnic) in a local home in the Youssoufia province. This experience invites you to discover, at the pace of the countryside, the preparation of beldi bread in a clay oven (traditional oven), in a friendly and family atmosphere.

Guided by the women of the village, you will learn to knead, shape, and bake bread the old-fashioned way, before enjoying it warm with olive oil, mint tea, and local products. A simple, warm, and unforgettable experience, perfect for reconnecting with what truly matters.
