Three times the Toubkal Summit in less than 24 hours: The committed feat of a Moroccan mountaineer
In the heart of Morocco's High Atlas, where the air is thin and the trails are steep, a man has embarked on a challenge as crazy as it is unprecedented: to climb Toubkal, the highest peak in North Africa, three times in less than 24 hours. But the feat isn't just about the clock.

He has already climbed iconic peaks in winter conditions or solo, in Morocco and abroad. This time, it was a message that he wanted to convey, through a strong and symbolic gesture.

On June 1, 2025, Khalid Douache, alias Abodrar, a passionate mountaineer and committed filmmaker, completed his third round trip to the summit.
13 hours and 49 minutes in total, almost 3 meters of positive elevation gain, and a single intention: erase the human traces left on the mountain.

Because at each passage, Khalid stopped to erase a wild tag painted on the rocks of the massif.
A symbolic act, discreet, but full of meaning.
A gentle resistance. A gesture of reconciliation.

"You don't leave a mark on a work of art. Why do it on a mountain?"

AN EXPLOIT, BUT NOT A RECORD FOR GLORY

No sponsors. No assistants. No technical team. Just him, his bag, his determination—and this visceral need to give back to the mountain what it gave him: silence, meaning, strength.

The figures of the ascent speak for themselves :

  • 3 round trips to the summit
  • 24,26 km traveled
  • 2 m of elevation gain
  • A peak at 4 m reached three times
  • 3 tags deleted

But more than the sporting feat, it is the symbolic significance of this initiative that stands out. By climbing Toubkal three times in a row, Khalid wants remind us of our collective responsibility : “We can love the mountain without dirtying it. We can leave a trace… without disfiguring it.”

AN ADVENTURE COMING SOON TO SCREENS

The project, called “3x Toubkal 24h Challenge”, is in the process of being recognized by the Guinness World RecordsA documentary series is also in preparation, featuring immersive footage shot on location. It will reveal the behind-the-scenes of this challenge, as well as a broader reflection on our relationship with nature, effort, and the impact we leave.

"It wasn't a stunt. It was to send a message. The mountain doesn't belong to us. It tolerates us."
